Exchange is supporting an innovative, learning focused evaluation of INASP-Health, one of our partner organisations. In addition to reflection on the future direction and priorities of INASP-Health, the evaluation will explore some generic issues about the processes of networking, in order to understand what makes networks more effective.

Photo of participants writing on a huge ideas board as part of the INASP-Health review meetingsAs part of the evaluation process, there have been a number of reflection and review meetings. One meeting took place in Nairobi on 14 November 2003, and was an opportunity to look at how INASP-Health could work more effectively in the future. Participants reflected on the current situation in Kenya and East Africa and explored priority issues in the health information field.

Kenyan participants showed a strong desire to build on their existing institutions by coordinating them more effectively. Another priority is to develop capacity in repackaging and adapting practical and appropriate health information to meet the needs of people in rural and remote areas. The valuable health information that is increasingly available internationally needs this intermediary step to make it accessible and relevant.
